Fishery Information
This fishery is run by Derby Railway Angling Club.
This mature fishery was created from old gravel workings that were completed over twenty years ago. The club acquired the pool seven years ago, and during the intervening years, the pool and its surroundings were left to nature, which has now created an attractive fishery. The pool spans two acres and features several small islands. The depth varies greatly from peg to peg, with some areas measuring 3-4ft and others reaching 12-15ft.
What size do the fish go to?
The pool holds a variety of fish species. Anglers can expect to catch perch, roach, rudd, bream (with weights of 6-7lbs not uncommon), carp reaching into the high teens, and a good head of tench that can exceed 5lbs.
What tactics work well?
Various tactics can be employed successfully at this fishery. Anglers may find success using pole fishing, float fishing, or ledgering techniques. The choice of tactics will depend on the target species and prevailing conditions.
What facilities are on site?
The fishery offers a natural and serene environment for anglers to enjoy. While specific facilities may be limited, the natural beauty of the surroundings provides a peaceful fishing experience.
Is parking available?
Parking is available at this fishery, conveniently located behind most pegs. Anglers can easily access the fishing area without any parking concerns.
