Fishery Information
Glen’s Pit is located near Hoddesdon in Essex and is a membership only fishery. There have been some complications with regard to the ownership of the land over which the lake is accessed, hence strict membership rules must be applied.
As this is a registered conservation area that brings further complexities, with the biodiversity of the lake being important. It is a former gravel pit that covers some 120 acres, and with no dedicated swims it is important that the angler finds the right location. In fact, Glen Faba – as it is also known – is ideal for the angler who prefers to be mobile.
Notably this water has not been formally or officially stocked, although large carp have been caught here. There are believed to be relatively few fish in the water but they have reached considerable sizes.
What size do the fish go to?
It is difficult to say how large the carp in Glen Faba are, as this is a naturally stocked pool. However, there are believed to be carp in excess of 30lb.

Moving around is a suggested technique on what is a challenging water.
What facilities are on site?
There are no facilities on site, but plenty of shops and places to eat in Hoddesdon nearby.
Is parking available?
Parking is available but there is a necessary walk to the lake.
