Fishery Information
Glenquicken Troutmasters Fishery is a 4.5 acre fly fishing lochan located in Newton Stewart, Dumfries and Galloway. The fishery is situated in the shadow of Cairnsmore of Fleet and offers magnificent scenery.
What size do the fish go to?
The lochan is well stocked with rainbow trout ranging from 2lbs to double figures, including some real monsters. The overall stocking of the lochan is no less than 150 fish per acre.
What tactics work well?
At Glenquicken Troutmasters Fishery, fly fishing is the only method allowed. Various flies, including hand-tied ones by the owner’s wife and son, can be purchased on-site. Beginners are welcome, and tuition can be arranged at a modest cost per hour (booking in advance is recommended).
What facilities are on site?
Glenquicken Troutmasters Fishery provides a comfortable Fishing “Kabin” where hot food and drinks are available to order. Additionally, a selection of flies, leaders, and other fishing accessories can be purchased. Rods, reels, and nets are also available for hire. Toilet, shower, and dishwashing facilities are available on-site.
