Fishery Information
Located in Onneley, Cheshire, Gordon’s Pool is a mixed fishery with varying depths between 2 and 6 feet. Originally a trout fishery, this water also holds stunning bream, tench, roach, perch, carp, ghost carp, crucian carp, ide, chub and barbel.
To get there, follow these directions. Take the A525 Newcastle-under-Lyme to Woore road out of Newcastle, past Keele University and Newcastle Municipal Golf Club. Follow the Keele Village By-pass until you see the turning for Madeley on your left-hand side. Follow the directions to Bar Hill pools. Go past the entrance to the Top Pools and carry on towards Woore. Onneley Golf Club and The Wheatsheaf appear on your right hand side. Go past them, and in a short distance, the road bears sharply left. Onneley Village Hall is on your right hand side, and stands at the corner of School Lane. Turn right and proceed for approximately 3 quarters of a mile, the lake will appear on your left-hand side and if you turn left down the private road, the car park entrance is on your left, by the waters edge. The lake is easily recognisable by the shed situated at the road end of the lake.
