Fishery Information
Gweryd Lakes has been a well-established fishery for more than two decades. It offers excellent carp fishing as well as specimen coarse fishing. It also provides trout fishing opportunities for both fly and bait anglers.
Two coarse lakes and two trout pools are located on the 150-acre estate in the Clwydian Range. With only 30 minutes between Chester and Manchester and an hour from Merseyside, it is a convenient place to visit. Gweryd Lakes now offers fishing lessons to those interested.
The Lakes are:
Llyn Gweryd a natural spring-fed specimen lake for carp and silver fishing is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. There are three parking lots, plenty of pegs (including pegs for disabled anglers), and toilet facilities. It is easily accessible.
Llyn Ewan is a well-stocked lake that receives its water from a nearby stream. It offers excellent pleasure fishing opportunities and is easily accessible. It is suitable day and night fishing, and it contains species that are similar to those found in Llyn Gweryd, albeit on a smaller scale.
Anglers can catch rainbow trout ranging in size from 2 to 2 1/2 pounds in Llyn Louis, which is bait and fly pool. This pool is a lot of fun for the whole family. It also has disabled pegs that are easily accessible. It is ideal for those who are learning to fly fish as well as those who simply want to catch a fish for supper.
Annie’s Pool is only available for fly-fishing. Rainbow trout ranging in weight from 1 to 5 pounds are the fish species here
