Boasting 2 beautiful and well-kept fishing lakes that are open all year round, Gwinear Lakes is indeed a hidden gem in the heart of the picturesque Cornwall countryside.
Established in 1988, the Specimen Lake has matured into one of the best day ticket fishing venues in Cornwall. Since the ownership change in October 2014, new carp were added to its existing stock levels. It is now home to carp to 40 lbs. It has varying depths and plenty of features to fish to including reeds, wildflowers, water lilies, 2 islands in the middle and a willow tree hanging in the water. Day tickets for this lake can be purchased at the on-site tackle shop. A maximum of 6 angles can fish this lake. Prior booking is needed to reserve a swim.
Redesigned in 2015, the match and pleasure coarse fishing lake offers large pegs and easy access. Just like the Specimen Lake, this water as varying depths and plenty of features to fish to. Anglers of any level of experience will surely enjoy catching various species present including carp to 16 lbs, bream, tench, perch, rudd and roach.
