Fishery Information
Hallcroft has a total of six lakes, offering a variety of fishing on each lake. Hallcroft was once a fish breeding site, but has since been converted into the ultimate fishery where coarse and carp anglers can fish side by side on some very exciting lakes. There is also some river fishing available on site too. The usual culprits of roach, rudd, perch, bream, tench, mirror and common carp are all present at Hallcroft.
Hallcroft is a match-style fishing venue. While catching carp at 20lb plus isn’t uncommon at this venue, match tactics are the go-to for most anglers here. Each lake offers plenty of action on a pole or float rod, but don’t neglect method feeders either!
What size do the fish go to?
Moat Pool is the largest lake on the complex and boasts carp over 25lbs and a top match weight of over 300lbs. Many of the smaller lakes have match weight numbers in excess of 150lbs. So, if you’re into match fishing, Hallcroft promises a very busy and exciting day on the bank.
What tactics work well?
Pellet, corn and maggot are must-haves at this venue. Feeder fishing is an excellent option too, sticking a feeder into the middle of any of the lakes promises a good amount of action. Still, don’t forget the margins later in the day. A pole or float rod in the margin could bag you a big one.
What facilities are on site?
Hallcroft has a tackle shop on site. There are also swims on Reed Pool designed for disabled and elderly anglers. There are also toilets, a cafe and a bar.
Is parking available?
Yes, each peg has parking just behind it.
