Halls Pit, also referred to as the L-Shape Pit, is a 5-acre fishery managed by the Blunham & District Angling Club primarily stocks carp. Halls Pit is located in Sandy, Bedford. Other types of fish include a few particularly large Bream and Tench. You are free to fish in this body of water throughout the year because there are no closed fishing seasons. A number of the swims are conveniently located close to parking, making them easy to access.
What size do the fish go to?
The Pit is known for its large carp, with some specimens weighing more than 30 pounds. There are also a respectable number of fish weighing 20 pounds or more.
What tactics work well?
Given that the main attraction is Carp, pack boilies, bread, worms, corn and sweetcorn, and some maggots. Dead and Jiggly bait will be helpful if you want to catch other species of fish as well.
