Hampstead Heath Boating Pond Information
Coarse fishing right in the heart of London! Hampstead Heath Boating Pong is actually home to 30 man-made lakes that were dug out in the 18th Century to provide a source of drinking water for the cities inhabitants. Provided you are happy to dodge the swimmers you’ll be able to fish here for free. The water is open all year, with no closed season. Although there are 30 lakes the majority of the action takes place on one of the six bigger lakes.
The area and the water can get very busy, especially on hot summer days so it might be best to go early in the morning or later in the evening once the crowds have dissipated.
