Fishery Information
With 4 beautiful pools next to a small trout river, Hamstall Fishery offers 700 yards of amazing river fishing experience. This is a pleasure fishing water and it does not hold matches. It has pegs that are suitable for disabled anglers. Usual baits work fine when fishing here, but luncheon meat or meat paste is proven to consistently work well for catching carp. Castors on the drop are also recommended for catching roach and rudd.
Surrounded by amazing nature, Hamstall Fishery is open all year round. There is a purpose-built Fisherman’s Lodge on site where a range of baits, hot and cold drinks, confectionery and snacks can be purchased. The Lodge also houses one of the cleanest and smartest toilets at the fishery, making it a suitable venue for the ladies. This site is perfect for families as well.
The Specimen Lake now offers carp to over 30 lbs. as well as impressive quality and quantity of bream, roach, perch, tench, golden and red rudd, brown trout, chub, dace, pike and grayling.
Both coarse and fly fishing techniques work well on the waters on this venue.
Please note that barbed hooks, braid and bolt rigs are not allowed on site. The only bait ban is applicable for nuts. This fishery requires landing nets and they also require anglers who fish on the Specimen Pool to use an unhooking mat.
