Harting Combe is a 4-acre pond located in a beautiful woodland setting. The pond offers a variety of fish species, including Carp up to 30lb, Tench up to 8lb, Pike up to 24lb, and other fish such as Bream, Roach, Rudd, and Perch.
What size do the fish go to?
The pond contains Carp that can reach up to 30lb, Tench up to 8lb, and Pike up to 24lb. Additionally, there are other fish species such as Bream, Roach, Rudd, and Perch present in the pond.
What tactics work well?
For Carp fishing, barbless or microbarbed hooks with a maximum size 4 are allowed, and a minimum of 15lbs mainline must be used. Carp must be released promptly after capture, and the use of prepared nut baits as hook baits is permitted, while peanuts are banned. Night fishing is allowed with 2 rods from dusk to dawn, and members must book in advance for night sessions. Pike fishing is permitted throughout the season, with specific rules for line breaking strain, hook size, and the use of sea fish dead-bait. Braided mainline is allowed for predator/lure fishing only in combination with mono hook length or wire trace for Pike fishing.
What facilities are on site?
The site offers parking only in the car park adjacent to the roadside, and the gateway is to be kept closed at all times. Members can book night fishing sessions through the booking platform. Anglers must carry a padded unhooking mat and adhere to specific rules for fishing for Carp and Pike. The pond is surrounded by a lovely woodland setting, providing a peaceful and scenic fishing experience.
