What size do the fish go to?
There are carp to 20lbs in all three of the lakes. All of the lakes are match-style lakes, holding professional matches throughout the year. It is very possible to catch massive weights in all of the lakes at Hayfield Fishing Lakes if you fish correctly.
What tactics work well?
Match fishing tactics are devastating here. Feeders, poles and waggler fishing are all very good here. As there are loads of f1s and smaller carp in all of the lakes, pellets are a must no matter what method you are using to catch. Corn and maggots also work very nicely in all of the lakes. Start by fishing in the middle of the lake while baiting a margin swim.
What facilities are on site?
There are camping and caravan pitches available. There’s also a pub usually full of anglers that serves excellent food and drink. Public toilets are also available among much more.
