Fishery Information
Hazelcourt Ponds is a complex of six lakes located in the stunning Vale of Glamorgan countryside. It caters for all levels of anglers, from the casual pleasure angler to the professional Catfish and Carp angler.
The ponds are home to a diverse range of fish species, including Bream up to 8 pounds, Tench up to 8 pounds 8 ounces, Golden Tench up to 7 pounds, and Roach and Rudd up to a very respectable size. Orfe weighing up to 5 pounds are also present.
A large number of Carp can be found in the Specimen Lake. An abundance of upper double figure Carp up to 25lb in weight of all varieties and colors can be found in this pond. Other fish in the pond include good-sized bream, tench, roach up to 3lb, and Orfe, among other species of fish.
Catfish Lake is home to 20 plus Catfish, as well as a large number of Carp going up to 35lbs and other small fish.
In the Reed pond, you will find Roach, Rudd and Golden Rudd as well as Tench, Bream and Orfe. The Reed pond also contains the same colorful Carp found in all of the waters. The tall reeds provide a more secluded environment for swim.
Pleasure Lake is the most popular lake and contains a diverse range of fish species. Carp of all varieties, Tench, Golden Tench, Orfe and Golden Orfe to 5lb are regularly caught, as well as a diverse range of silver fish species such as Roach, Rudd, Bream, Chub and hard fighting hybrids.
Jim’s pond, the newest water feature at the complex, has Carp, Tench, Bream, Roach, Rudd, as well as hybrids.
