Fishery Information
Located within the massive municipal amenity of the same name, Heaton Park Lake is a popular choice for anglers in the North West of England. Within Greater Manchester and close to the city, the park is easily reached by the major road networks and by public transport.
A day ticket facility, Heaton Park is popular with all ages and suitable for novices as well as experienced angler. Recent reports suggest the stock has been somewhat depleted of late and is now limited to carp and bream of reasonable sizes rather than specimen fish.
The park itself is a wonderful relief from the city and suburbs, making Heaton Park Lake (or reservoir) a popular place for locals and those from further afield. Fishing is from the bank and may be difficult for disabled anglers.
What size do the fish go to?
The latest reports suggest carp of a few pounds and bream, but not to specimen weights.
What facilities are on site?
Heaton Park is an 800-acre public park with in addition to the fishing lake a golf course, café and many facilities for children and families to enjoy. Most of the facilities are to be found near or in the Grade 1 listed Heaton Hall, the centre-piece of the park.

Parking is available close to the fishing lake.
