High Cleughearn Fishery is the newest Trout fishery in Central Scotland. It comprises a 1.5 acre Fly pond with 28 platforms, all covered with comfortable Astroturf and equipped with seats. The fishery is stocked with top-quality Grade A trout from Ae Fisheries, including Rainbows and Blues ranging from 2lbs to 8lbs, with a few doubles. It also features Goldies, Browns, Tigers, Sparctic trout, and tagged Tigers with a prize pot for those who enter. The minimum size of fish stocked is 3lbs.

What tactics work well?
Effective tactics at High Cleughearn Fishery include fly fishing with a variety of Fario flies. Barbless or properly debarbed hooks must be used at all times, and only single-point hooks are allowed on any pond. Foam flies such as FAB’s, Sussies, Daddies, Smokers, Softies, Floating Fry, etc., may be used only on floating or sink tip lines.

High Cleughearn Fishery offers various facilities to enhance your fishing experience. The fishery has a warm and comfortable cabin where you can purchase hot and cold drinks, snacks, tackle items including a large range of Fario flies and Fulling Mill fluorocarbon, and more. Fly rods are also available for hire, all set up and ready to go. Additionally, nets are provided, so there’s no need to bring your own.
