Fishery Information
Despite there being 8 lakes at Higher Kingcombe there’s very limited information out there with regards to lake size or what’s actually in the lakes.
What we could find is that the lakes are stocked with carp, perch, roach, tench and bream.
There is one lake known as “top lake” which is wheelchair friendly and has big fishing platforms.
The accommodation looks excellent and all the reviews we could find of it were really good.
One review that we found about the fishing is from back in 2012 said the following:
I fish this lake quite alot and its very productive compared to other lake around Dorset. The biggest carp ive landed was a 17lb 7 common and 18lb mirror from the old Dorchester specimen lake i believe there are 20,s plus in there and have hooked into some big carp but they got away. there are loads of feature to fish to and the the other specimen lake holds 2 big carp in there which have still to be caught to see there weight i was told last year it weighed in at 26lb ghost and mirror at 25lb. other than that these lakes are very good value for money and you will leaving happy ive never blanked since fishing these lakes.
