What facilities are on site?

The lake is located within a large park with scenic wooded parkland, forest walks, and lakeside paths. There is a tarmac car park a short distance along a quarry dust path with a moderate gradient to the fishery. A surfaced path surrounds the lake. Wheelchair access to the water is possible along the dam wall. Anglers are reminded not to leave litter, lines, or hooks behind as the lake is a sanctuary for wildlife.

Is parking available?

Yes, there is a tarmac car park available for anglers. Please note that cars are not allowed beyond the forest park car parks, and anglers must observe the closing times of the forest park, which are displayed on the gates.

Additional Information:

Fishing from boats is not allowed at Hillsborough Lake. Anglers must have a DAERA game rod licence and game angling permit. Furthermore, the lake is home to swans and several varieties of ducks, reinforcing its status as a wildlife sanctuary.
