Fishery Information
This fishery is run by Burslem Izaak Walton Angling Club.
We are allowed to fish Hobbergate Pool, which is located near Hooks Green pool. It is a mixed fishery with a variety of fish species, including carp, bream, roach, perch, skimmers, tench, pike, and the occasional eel.
What size do the fish go to?
The pool has some good carp up to 20lb, bream up to 4-5lb, and a good head of roach, perch, and skimmers.
What tactics work well?
Various tactics can be effective depending on the target species. For carp, using boilies, pellets, or carp rigs can yield good results. Roach, perch, and skimmers can be caught using traditional float fishing techniques with maggots or worms as bait.
What facilities are on site?
Please inquire with the fishery regarding the available facilities on site. There are plans to introduce disabled access to the pool in the near future, including a designated peg for disabled/wheelchair users.
