Fishery Information
This fishery is run by Burslem Izaak Walton Angling Club.
A lovely spring-fed fishery of about 1.5 acres in rural North Staffordshire, located between Rough Close and Stone. The pool is a natural bank fishery, with no permanent pegs.
What size do the fish go to?
This venue is primarily a carp fishery, with a good head of carp which average 12-22lb.
Along with the carp, there are also good numbers of perch from a few ounces to 2lb, gudgeon and rudd from a few ounces to over 1lb. There are also a good number of pike up to double figures.
What tactics work well?
For carp fishing, popular tactics include using boilies, pellets, and carp rigs. For perch, gudgeon, and rudd, lighter tackle with small baits like worms or small lures can be effective. Pike fishing often involves using larger lures or deadbaits.
What facilities are on site?
The pool and car park are behind locked gates for added security. The code for the locks is supplied on joining.
