This fishery is run by Burslem Izaak Walton Angling Club.
This pool is located in the field above Hooks Green pool. We only have access to the bank nearest to Hooks Green pool, and the rest of the pool isn’t fished. It is a rarely fished pool as most anglers stop at the main pool.
What size do the fish go to?
This pool is ideal for anyone new to fishing as it is stuffed with rudd. In the summer, fishing with maggots, you’ll get a bite a chuck. Along with the rudd, there are also quite a few carp up to double figures.
What tactics work well?
For rudd, using maggots as bait is highly effective. Carp can be targeted with a variety of tactics such as using boilies, pellets, or carp rigs.
