Fishery Information
Iremongers Pond is located on the banks of the River Trent in the village of Wilford. The pond draws walkers, explorers and anglers from all over the East Midlands and promises an exciting day’s fishing in the right spot.
While memberships for this lake are available, day tickets are too. If you’re looking for the perfect lake for a beginner, Iremongers is an ideal choice. There are a few carp to be had, but most of the fish in the lake are under 10lbs, so it’s a great place to learn the basics and have a busy day’s fishing with a good head of tench, bream, roach, rudd and perch up for grabs. The lake also added in some beautiful crucian carp recently as well.
What size do the fish go to?
In January 2021, 17 common carp of over 10lbs were added to the lake. These are the largest lodgers of the lake at the moment. However, the lake is drawing funding and getting help from the Environment Agency to continue improvements to the lake and the fish stock.
What tactics work well?
Iremongers promises a wonderful day’s fishing for anyone using a pole or float technique. Float fishing works great here with maggots and corn. Groundbait is also well worth bringing with you. Creating a tight feeding area close to the margins is all it takes to have a blinding day’s fishing here.
What facilities are on site?
There are some rubbish bins and a wheelchair-accessible path.
Is parking available?
Parking is available near the lake.
