Fishery Information
Located at the heart of Staffordshire, Izaak Walton Fishery is known as an excellent site for coarse fishing and popular with beginner and match anglers alike. Open all year round, this 43-acre fishery is set in the peaceful and beautiful open countryside on the outskirts of the quiet village of Chebsey.
Taken over by George and Trish Taylor in 2016, this venue is welcome to guests of all ages. The Tea Room welcomes guests all year round and offers a choice of hot drinks as well as delicious breakfasts, lunches and homemade cakes. This family friendly site is well-thought for less mobile guests and provides newly laid paths, an accessible patio area and toilet facilities.
The Canal is their snake-style lake that is perfect for pleasure, pole and match fishing. It has a width of around 12 metres and depths similar to a typical canal. It is home to pristine skimmers, roach, and F1 carp. Little and often loose feeding and relatively fine rigs are recommended to catch a netful.
The Top Lake features a central island and tempting corners. It provides consistent good fishing all year round. If you want to catch a bag of traditional fish, classic float or feeder fishing tactics are effective for bream and roach. Double-figure carp are also present in this water. Other species available include perch and chub.
The Middle Lake is home to fish species similar to the ones present in the main pool. Anglers who enjoy stalking carp or float fishing just off the rod tip would love this water.
The Bottom Lake is the oldest water on site and offers excellent carp fishing. This water is home to a good mix of species, including bigger carp, stunning mirror carp, common carp and other net fillers. Fish present in the lake can go up to over 20 lbs.. This lake is perfect for specimen anglers who want to try stronger tackle and bigger baits such as boilies, meat and bigger pellets. You’ll likely need a generous sized net and unhooking mat when fishing on this water.

What tactics work well?
Classic float or feeder fishing tactics are effective when catching bream and roach on the Top Lake. Carp stalking or float fishing just off the rod is recommended when fishing on the Middle Lake. Stronger tackle and bigger baits such as boilies, bigger pellets and meat are highly recommended when fishing on the Bottom Lake.
What facilities are on site?
Facilities available include a large car park, a cafe and top quality toilets. They also provide facilities for disabled anglers including newly laid paths, an accessible patio area and toilets.
Is parking available?
There is a car park on site that accommodate over 100 vehicles.
