Fishery Information
Located in Cumbria, Kentmere Fishery is an exceptionally beautiful fishery that consists of 2 lakes set in the middle of the pristine Kentmere Valley about 3 miles north of Staveley. East Bay, which is the smaller lake, is a 4-acre water that holds wild browns and stocked browns up to 5 lbs. The larger lake on the other hand is a 10-acre water that holds wild brown trout to 5 lbs. Other fish species include salmon and sea trout.
East Bay has a number of purposed-built platforms and walkways. The larger lake is best fished from the club boat but bank access is also available. Please note that members who wishes to use the club boat are required to purchase a key. Fishing is not permitted in the river at either end of the main lake.
Windermere, Ambleside & District Angling Association permits are available for this fishery. Fishing is allowed from dawn until dusk.
What size do the fish go to?
Raibow trout go to 9 lbs 2 oz, brown trout to 6 lbs and wild brown trout to 5 lbs.
What tactics work well?
Natural flies include Hawthorn, Buzzers, Daddies and Sedges. Green Damsels, Black Tadpoles and Black and Green Montana are also recommended.

Off-road parking is available through the wooden gate on left as you arrive from Staveley. The stone track sometimes gets eroded by water run-off so use at own risk.
