Fishery Information
A 16-peg fishery on the Badshot Lea Complex, Kings Pond is a great spot for younger anglers and the more experienced alike.
This facility is 0.7 acres in size, with a maximum depth of six feet. It is well-stocked with crucian carp, tench, roach, and chub.
Kings Pond is overseen by the Farnham Angling Society and operates year-round. The green grass-swims and far-bank vegetation illustrate the Society’s dedication to the property, making it a fairly busy spot for most of the year. Anglers are advised to get up early to ensure a swim.
It is not uncommon to encounter junior anglers and angling classes at Kings Pond. The Society offers coaching and training in float fishing for younger people.
Night fishing is permitted, but junior members cannot participate without an accompanying senior member.
What size do the fish go to?
Hundreds of eight to 10 pound crucians can be found at Kings Pond.
Tench between two and eight pounds make an appearance in the summer and autumn months, while the winter months hold hundreds of one to eight pound roach and bream hybrids.
What tactics work well?
Pole and waggler are the most popular methods for fishing Kings Pond. Some anglers recommend light tackle for a greater challenge catching tench or barbel.
Because many of the fish love to hang out around the deeper drop-offs in the water, frequent but small sprinklings of pellet and maggot are recommended about six feet from the water’s edge.
What facilities are on site?
There are toilets on the property.
Is parking available?
Secure parking is available at Kings Pond.
Members are reminded to ensure the gate is locked at all times.
