Fishery Information
Kippax Park has three wonderful lakes to fish surrounded by some beautiful and peaceful countryside. The only sounds you hear on the bank here are fish showing and reels going crazy. Of the three lakes, one is part of the Leeds and District Amalgamated Society of Anglers, but the other two are day ticket waters. These are great places to fish and give you insight into what the angling club is all about. Kippax Park has lakes that are available for coarse and fly fishing. The fly fishing is only available on Rainbow Lake, but this is well worth a trip if you’re a keen fly angler.
What size do the fish go to?
Interestingly, Kippax Park is quite the secret. We know there are nice carp, bream and tench in the lakes, there are also some lovely sized trout in the fly fishing lake, but no weights have been offered by the club for years. So, the fish in all of the lakes could be absolute monsters; we just aren’t too sure. There are also plenty of skimmer, roach and rudd in the lakes. We believe the day ticket lakes also hold some beautiful perch too.
What tactics work well?
Maggots and corn seem a likely place to start on all of the waters, depending on the fish species you are targeting. If you’re going for the big carp, boilies are a solid choice. Combine a bright boilie with a PVA bag full of pellets and hemp, and you could grab a quick bite.
