Situated in Dresden, Staffordshire, Knight Bottoms Lake is a serene location that offers a fantastic day’s sport to both beginners and more seasoned angler. The lake is managed by Fenton and District Angling Society, who oversee a range of venue including lakes, river and canals.
The fishery aims to encourage youngsters and beginners to get involved in the sport, therefore fees are very competitive. As a result, day tickets start from only £4, with juniors fishing for £1.50.
The waters are home to a healthy stock of Bream, Tench, Perch, Roach and Carp.
What size do the fish go to?
Bream, Tench, Perch and Roach tend to weigh between 2-7lbs. Carp are frequently landed in the double figures, with the larger fish exceeding 20lbs.
What tactics work well?
Standard still water tactics are generally very effective. Using a feeder with sweetcorn or worms tends to entice the larger carp. Anglers should consider utilising pellets and boilies during the warmer months.
What facilities are on site?
There is a tackle and bait shop on site, which sells all of the essentials plus a wide range of the latest equipment and baits. Clean and accessible toilet facilities are open to visitors.
