Fishery Information
Lake John Fishery is one of the most well-known and acclaimed fisheries in the county of Essex. It has two lakes, both of which are mixed fisheries. They are open every day from Tuesday to Sunday, except for Mondays and holidays. The hours of operation and closing are subject to change depending on the time of year.
Top lake has a surface area of two and a half acres and contains a variety of fish species, including a healthy population of carp. The heaviest carp weighed 46lb 4oz. Other species found in the lake include tench, roach, rudd, bream, and perch, the largest of which weighed more than 4 pounds.
Bottom Lake is a smaller, more secluded lake that is only 14m wide. It is a mixed fishery lake with plenty of opportunities for good fishing.
