Fishery Information
Set in a tranquil location near Wymeswold, Loughborough, Lakeside Sporting offers an excellent facility to both the keen Carp and Trout angler. The site comprises of 4 lakes in total, all offering a variety of fishing features such as reeds and overhanging trees.
The venue was once famous for Trout fishing; but, this is no longer on offer. However, the grounds do make for excellent coarse fishing, with a healthy stock of Specimen Carp recently being added to the waters.
Day tickets start from £6 (1 rod) with discounts being offered for juniors, disabled and elderly anglers. The site is open all year from 9am to 7pm, 7 days a week.
What size do the fish go to?
There are a number of Bream, Tench and Roach which tend to way between 3 and 8lbs. Additionally, there are a healthy number of Carp weighing into double figures, with the largest fish reaching 30lbs.
What tactics work well?
Standard still water tactics are generally effective. Also, using a feeder with worms or sweetcorn often helps to entice the larger carp.
What facilities are on site?
There is a shop on site which can provide all of the essentials. Moreover, the on-site café offers freshly prepared food plus a range of hot and cold beverages. Clean and accessible toilets are open to visitors.
