Fishery Information
Located in Newquay, Cornwall, Legonna Farm is home to two private fishing pools that have been in operation for many years. The pools’ location in a valley makes them naturally sheltered, which makes for fishing experiences that are serene and unruffled.
Tench, roach, rudd, perch, and carp make up a significant portion of the fish population in each of the two pools. Fishing is only permitted from dawn until dusk, and tickets can be purchased at the farmhouse situated on the opposite side of the road.
What size do the fish go to?
Carp can go up to 20lb
Tench can go up to 5lb
What tactics work well?
Carp are crafty creatures, but they will bite at baits such as corn, meat, or pellets of a modest size. They can also fall for freelined crust when the evenings are particularly warm.
If you want to catch tench, try floatfishing with corn or redworm.
A day spent fishing for roach and rudd with a box of maggots can be just as enjoyable as fishing for any other species. Always work barbless hooks.
