It offers mixed coarse and game fishing, and is known for its diverse range of fish species including perch, roach, pike, brown trout, grayling, eels, minnows, loaches, ruffe and bullheads. The lake is also unique as it is one of the few places in the country where still-water grayling can be caught.
What size do the fish go to?
The pike and trout in Bala Lake can grow to specimen sizes with pike reaching over 30lbs and ‘ferox’ trout up to 15lbs having been caught.
