However, in recent years, fly fishing has emerged as an equally, if not more, successful method. Anglers are advised to concentrate on the shallows and areas around the islands for the best chances of success. Hotspots such as Hare Island, Inch More, and Inch Turk are worth exploring. The lake experiences typical fly hatches found in Irish limestone lakes, including duckfly, olives, mayfly, sedges, and daddy longlegs in September. Both wet and dry fly fishing techniques can be productive.
