Fishery Information
Mansfield Farm Lake is a really beautiful lake set in the picturesque countryside of Kent. It is a fairly narrow lake of about 3 acres in size. With plenty of overhanging trees, reed beds, and lily beds for the fish to hide in. speaking of the fish, there is plenty to catch on this lake, including carp, bream, roach, rudd, perch and more. While any type of fishing is possible on this water, many go to Mansfield Farm Lake for the stunning carp.
What size do the fish go to?
We aren’t too sure. There are certainly carp to over 25lbs in the lake, but there isn’t much more information about the other species. Certainly, there are some nice sized tench and bream, but there could be some massive ones in this lake.
What tactics work well?
Most carp tactics work well here. We would stick to the reed beds or lily pads, though. This is the main haunt for the larger fish, and you can catch one quite quickly as it pops out of the protection of the beds. A PVA bag is a solid choice here as it will allow you to fish a bit closer to snags. However, once a carp picks up the bait, you need to act fast before it runs back into the reed beds.
What facilities are on site?
None that we know of, although Absolute Tackle (a brilliant tackle shop just down the road) does sell day tickets for this venue. They will also be able to offer some advice to carp anglers new to the venue too.
Is parking available?
Yes, parking is available near the lake.
