Fishery Information
Situated in North Shropshire, Merrington Carp Fishery is a purpose built 9-acre carp fishery that provide both visible and underwater features in every swim.
The venue is set deep in the heart of pristine countryside away from traffic noise. This tranquil fishery is considered as one of Shropshire’s premier day ticket venues.
The Main Lake offers 15 swims to choose from and is home to a lot of magnificent carp. It is stocked with 250 fish, with about 90% are over 20 lbs (46 are known 30 lbs. and 2 over 40 lbs.). The lake average is 26 lbs. and the current record is standing at 43 lbs. 8 oz. (mirror) and 41 lbs. 8 oz. (common). Fishing on the Main Lake could be both tricky and rewarding. Booking is required prior to fishing.
The Merlin Lake is a 1.25-acre lake that holds approximately 80 carp that weigh up to 31 lbs. 10 oz.. The depths of this lake ranges from 7 feet to 11 feet. Net, handles, weigh slings, unhooking mats and water buckets are all supplied for this lake.
The Hayes Lake is the newest lake on this venue and will be opening in Spring 2022. This 6-acre lake is stocked with over 200 stunning mirror and common carp.
What size do the fish go to?
The Main Lake is home to mirror carp weighing up to 43 lbs. 8 oz. and common carp weighing up to 41 lbs. 8 oz.. On the other hand, the Merlin Lake boasts carp weighing up to 31 lbs. 10 oz..
What tactics work well?
