Fishery Information
Occupying a beautiful spot in Devon is a Mill Farm Fishery, with three lakes to fish of varying sizes. The fishery is close to the small town of Bradworthy and while in a remote location is easy to find from the nearby major road network.
An old gravel pit, the lakes were filled decade ago allowing the vegetation to mature and provide a wonderful setting in which to fish. Over the years each pond has been stocked with common and mirror carp, leather and grass carp, plus bream, roach, and tench as well as some crucian carp.
The main lake is stocked regularly and known to contain carp in double figures, while the newer Match Lake has recently been introduced and features plentiful pegs, some designed for disabled access. The third, smaller pond is popular with novice anglers and has a dozen pegs.
These well-maintained lakes are popular with local anglers as well as those travelling for a new fisher experience. The farm also has holiday lets, so a fishing holiday can be arranged.
What size do the fish go to?
The lakes at Mill Farm are well-stocked with carp in double figures. The carp record here is 29lb and there are believed to be many 30lb-plus fish in the ponds. Other coarse fish to good sizes are also regular catches.
What facilities are on site?
Mill Farm offers accommodation in the form of three self-catering lodges which can be booked for fishing holidays. The lodges come fully equipped with all amenities. While there are no further facilities on site, the local pub is a short walk away and serves good food, while the small town of Bradworthy has plentiful shops.
Is parking available?
Parking is available in the fishery for residents and day ticket holders.
