Fishery Information
Millbrook fisheries is a fairly new fishery, having been opened in 2015 that is jam-packed full of sizeable carp. This fishery is 4.5 acres and is located in the Heart of Staffordshire. Although the lake is big it isn’t in danger of being too crowded, there are only 10 pegs available. Over half the fish in the venue weigh in excess of 20lbs. If you are looking for a venue that will really put a bend in your rod, Millbrook fisheries could be it.
Each of the fish in the water was hand-picked, and as the years have gone on they have grown a great deal.
Due to the quality of the fishing, the venue is in high demand, so it is advisable to call and book before attending. For anglers looking for something slightly more exclusive, the entire venue can be hired for a whole week!
What size do the fish go to?
There are 206 fish currently stocked in the venue, with over half of them weighing over 20lbs. There have been reports of several fish weighing over 30lb!
What tactics work well?
Fish can be caught all over the venue, the website suggests that certain times of year favour different areas of the lake. With the east side being popular in summer.
While Shelf life boilies are banned, making your own can yield good results. The venue manager Lee Stokes says that pink and yellow boilies work well.
Fishing the shallows works well in summer and if you are casting to the islands you will want to be as tight to the bank as possible.
