Miller’s Pond is located at the heart of Shoreburs Greenway, to the east of the River Itchen in Southampton. In addition to open grassland, scrub, and mixed woods, this area also features a huge pond, making it one of the city’s few remaining large ponds.
The reserve is home to several distinct ecosystems, including acid grassland, a wildflower meadow, and a mixed woodland. Because of the wide variety of habitats, there are many different kinds of species.
Angling enthusiasts frequent the pond because of its abundant population of mixed coarse fish. In May of 2012, Miller’s Pond received official recognition as a Local Nature Reserve.
