Fishery Information
Established over 60 years ago, Milton Pools Fishery is one of the little known gems for fishing in Oxfordshire. The venue is perfect for both novice and seasoned anglers.
Set in a scenic location next to the M40 motorway near Oxford, this fishery boats 6 waters that offer everything from peaceful pleasure fishing to specimen fishing. It is well-stocked with carp, catfish, perch, pike, roach and tench.
Most of the pegs on this fishery are suitable for disabled anglers and they offer car access to many of their pegs.
Anglers are advised to call in advance if they are interested in night fishing, especially on the Specimen Lake. The Specimen Lake offers Swedish Style Cabins on most pegs, but these cabins have no services as they are an alternative to bivvies.
There is a limit of up to 2 rods on all lakes. They require unhooking mats on all lakes. They do not allow self-prepared hemps or mixed particles, tiger nuts, braided main line, lead-core, fixed rigs, dogs, floating baits, bread and dog biscuit on site. However, they allow sweet corn and shop bought hemp, braided hook links, barbless hooks and guide dogs.
They do not allow spinning or lures for pike fishing as well as dead bait from other waters or the same water. They only allow dead bait bought from the shop.
Anglers under 16 years of age should be accompanied by an adult over 21 years of age. Junior anglers are not allowed to fish on the House Lake, the Campbell’s Match Lake and the Specimen Lake even when accompanied by an adult. They are only allowed to fish on the Kidney Lake and the Len’s Match Lake when accompanied by an adult. Junior anglers can only use 1 rod when fishing and requests to use more than 1 rod will be denied right away.
Fishing tuition by appointment is available for anglers who are looking to improve their techniques.
