Fishery Information
Monument 1 is a specially designed carp fishery with a total stock of 300 fish. The lake is eight acres in size and is one of the best lakes to catch a U.K. day ticket 30lb+ or 40lb+ carp. Monument Lakes continuously invests to improve the complex and remain one of the best day ticket carp fishing complexes in the U.K.
What size do the fish go to?
In Monument 1, there are in excess of 85 different 30lb+ carp, 14 different 40lb+ carp, and four different fish which are 48lb+. These include ‘Houdini’, ‘Betty’, ‘Big Lenny’, and ‘The Big Male,’ all of which are still growing and will hit the 50lb barrier soon.
What tactics work well?
The carp in Monument 1 are constantly moving around, so all swims consistently produce. Various tactics can work well, including using quality boilies, floaters, naturals, and particles depending on the time of year.
What facilities are on site?
Monument Lakes offers various facilities to ensure that anglers have a comfortable and enjoyable fishing experience. If you wish to fish for longer than 36 hours, you can book 2 or 3 sessions that are back to back, and if you book the same peg, you can stay in your peg for the night and hand your rods into The Monument Office. You will then get your rods back at 6:30 am the following morning. There are also options to choose your swim when you book if the pegs are available. Additionally, the complex is fenced for safety and longevity.
