Fishery Information
Moreton Coarse Fishery offers excellent coarse fishing in the beautiful Cheshire countryside. Boasting 3 lovely waters, this venue is situated near the village of Moreton, about halfway between Harlow and Ongar.
The Main Lake is a 7-acre water with 53 pegs and is well-stocked with common and grass carp to 12 lbs, mirror carp to 30 lbs, tench, roach, perch, bream, chub, barbel, skimmers and gudgeon. Night fishing is allowed here but prior booking is required.
The Pecks Pool is a 1.5-acre water with 28 pegs and is mainly stocked with carp, crucians and roach. They only allow float fishing on this pool.
The Cottage Pool is over 1 acre in size and has 25 pegs. This water is home to carp, roach, perch, tench, golden orfe, chub, barbel, rudd and crucians. Only float fishing is allowed on this pool. Nuts and balls of ground baits are prohibited.
What size do the fish go to?
Grass carp go to 12 lbs and mirror carp go to 30 lbs.
What tactics work well?
Fly fishing works well on the Pecks and Cottage pools.
What facilities are on site?
On-site facilities include clean toilets, a huge car park, hot food delivery to pegs, a bait shop and a lodge that contains limited terminal tackle.
