This venue is considered an iconic church and fishing lodge. It offers a café with one of the best views of water, the Giant bike shop, access to Normanton church and the respected Fishing Lodge.
The Waterside Café provides a spectacular view across Rutland Water. They serve buffet breakfast (from 8:00 A.M.), coffee, cake and light lunches. Both fishermen and walkers love going to this cafe.
Fishing in Rutland Water offers an amazing experience to fishing enthusiasts. The reservoir attracts leisure anglers and also hosts top level competitions. They also offer fly fishing tuition on site for beginners or those who want to improve their angling techniques.
Fishing permit is required here and can be bought from local tackle shops. You can also get a permit from Vendor Huts at Normanton car park or at Whitwell car park at Rutland Water. Aside from normal fishing permits, you can also get Predator Permits (annual or daily).
The Fishing Lodge is a one-stop shop that supplies everything you need to get started in this exciting sport.
What size do the fish go to?
Trout present in the reservoir can grow up to 15 lbs.. Pike lurk beneath the water and can grow up to 40 lbs..
