Fishery Information
Nursery Lakes is a lovely little water on a peaceful caravan site in Bungay. The water is perhaps an acre in size, but don’t let that fool you. If you’ve seen any photos of the carp that call this little pond home, you will know why it is a rather popular fishing destination.
Granted, these carp aren’t the biggest, but they certainly keep the holiday goers and locals happy. The lake is nice and active with a good head of the usual smaller species, too, including bream, roach, rudd, tench and perch. Take a float rod with you and some corn, and you’ll have a lovely day by the water’s edge.
What size do the fish go to?
There are some stunning carp in this small lake up to double figures. There are also roach and rudd to a pound or two, perch to the same and bream to 5lbs. We aren’t sure what the tench go to; some say 3lbs, others say 5lb. It seems like there are thousands of fish in this small lake, though. Get on them, and you’ll have pounds and pounds of fish in a few minutes!
What tactics work well?
Corn, bread, maggots, all the basics work extremely well here. Pellets would be the ideal choice for the carp. Method feeding is a fantastic option here as well. However, float and pole are popular choices too.
What facilities are on site?
The lake is in the middle of a caravan site with all the facilities you’d expect.
Is parking available?
Yes, parking is available near the lake.
