Fishery Information

Oak Road Pond is located at the end of Beresford Avenue in Hull‘s playing fields and park area. One-half of the pond dug out by the Environment Agency almost twenty years ago was for fishing and the other half for wildlife. The H&DAA agreed with the Hull City Council in 2013 to manage the facility and perform renovations.

Today, the pond features 18 fishing swims surrounded by a path of superior quality. All H&DAA members and people who have purchased an official day ticket can fish here. The pond is home to a wide variety of coarse fish species, including rudd, perch, crucian carp, bream, and tench that can reach weights of approximately 4 pounds each.

The pond was constructed as a general fishery for anglers of all abilities and specifically intended to provide an excellent local fishery for people living in the Hull area.   It also organises coaching sessions for younger anglers, which may mean that access for others is limited on certain days of the week.

Blue badge holders with disabilities can drive up to the pond side anytime during the fishing hours of 7 am-9 pm. Everyone else must park their vehicle in the designated area and then walk to the pond, making their way along the path leading to the large wind turbine. Day tickets are available for purchase on the H&DAA website for non-members.
