Fishery Information
Situated close to the Essex town of Chelmsford, Oakfield Farm Fishery is an established facility in pleasant surroundings.
There are three fishing lakes here – the Top Lake, Middle Lake and the Small Lake – each of which welcomes day ticket visitors. The lakes are also used for matches.
Each lake is well-stocked with the expected coarse fish including carp, bream, roach, tench, golden orfe and rudd. The Small Lake is known for almost guaranteed catches hence it is popular with novices and children.
There are 23 pegs on the Top Lake, 21 on the Middle Lake and 10 on the Small Lake, offering plenty of pleasant spots from which to fish. Both Top and Middle Lakes feature islands.
Easy to reach thanks to its proximity to the main road network, Oakfield Farm Fishery nevertheless has a rural feel to it thanks to clever planting on the banks.
A family run facility, it is advisable to book a couple of days in advance as the lakes are often booked for local club matches,
What size do the fish go to?
Across all three lakes there are carp stocks in the 2lb to 7lb range, with some in excess of double figures. In matches, the Small Lake regularly returns nets in excess of 100lbs..
What facilities are on site?
Oakfield Farm Fishery offers no special features although temporary toilets are present.
Is parking available?
There is plentiful parking at the site, much of it within an easy walk of any of the three lakes.
