Fishery Information
Oaklands Fishery has four lakes to fish as well as lodges and camping facilities on site. This is a wonderful place for a family fishing holiday, and there is fishing for everyone. Whether you’ve never fished before or you love carp fishing, you can do it here. There is even a trout lake for those who love fly fishing. Plus, along with the usual species of fish, there are sturgeon on this site, which is quite rare in the UK nowadays.
What size do the fish go to?
The specimen pool has carp to over 20lbs, the sturgeon also reach about 20lbs as well. The match lake has carp to double-figures as well as loads of bream, skimmers, roach and rudd that can really add up to a nice weight over a match. There’s no information about the trout, but we’re sure that a good average stamp is present. The last lake is great for beginners, but there are carp to about 8lbs in this lake too.
What tactics work well?
Most carp tactics work very well in the specimen lake. Match-style tactics can also work well in that lake and are often the go-to in the match lake too. Pole and float fishing can work on almost all of the lakes, though.
What facilities are on site?
Oaklands Fishery has a great tackle shop and fishing tutorials on site. There are also lodges and camping facilities available at Oaklands Fishery too. Toilets are available close to the lakes.
