Offord Weirpool is run by Offord & Buckden Angling Society (OBAS). As the name suggests, it’s a weir pool in the middle of a river which makes it a perfect spot where fish want to hang out as the water is slow flowing.
The fishing here is pleasant and fun but it can be weedy which is frustrating.

What size do the fish go to?
- Chub to 7lbs
- Barbel to 12lb
- Bream to 7lbs
- Eels 5lb
- Pike to 25lbs
- Roach to 2lbs
- Perch to 4lbs
What tactics work well?
Maggots will work well for the smaller fish, but if it’s the barbel you want we recommend trying luncheon meat or pellets.
