Fishery Information

Open all year round, Oldmoor Pond is a small pond with 30 pegs. Situated close to the M1 motorway, this water is home to large stocks of fish, which include bream, crucian carp, common carp, mirror carp, roach, rudd and perch. Common and mirror carp in this lake go up to 20 lbs.

This pond has a depth of 3 feet on the motorway side and 7 feet on the wood side. Night fishing is allowed for night permit holders. This fishery caters to both novice and seasoned anglers.

To get there, follow these directions. From the A6002 Woodhouse Way, turn right at the traffic lights into Strelley Village. Follow the road through the village past the church on the right. Approximately 200 metres past the church, there is a left turn onto a bridleway. Follow this track over the motorway. The entrance to the pond is on the left just over the bridge. Follow the track to the bottom of the hill.

What size do the fish go to?

Carp go to 20 lbs.

What tactics work well?

Many fish respond well to floating baits during the summer months.

Parking facilities are available on site.

Is parking available?

There is ample parking both at the bottom of the track and also in the small car park near the wood. A key is required. There are also some disabled parking spaces on the far side.
