Fishery Information
This fishery is run by Newton-le-Willows Anglers Association.
These two pools, Park Pool 1 and Park Pool 2, are hidden gems that have not been previously featured in our portfolio. Both pools are rich in fish and offer excellent fishing opportunities.
What size do the fish go to?
In Park Pool 1, you can find mainly rudd, along with some nice carp and perch. The sizes of the fish vary, but there are chances to catch decent-sized specimens.
Park Pool 2 does not have designated pegs but is still fishable. The pool is known to hold a variety of fish species, including bream, common carp, mirror carp, perch, roach, rudd, and skimmers. The sizes of the fish can range, providing a diverse angling experience.
What tactics work well?
For Park Pool 1, targeting rudd with float fishing techniques using small baits such as maggots or bread crumbs can be effective. When pursuing carp and perch, using appropriate rigs and baits like boilies or worms may yield good results.
Park Pool 2 offers versatility in tactics due to the presence of various fish species. Tactics such as feeder fishing, pole fishing, or float fishing with a range of baits can be successful depending on the target species.
What facilities are on site?
While Park Pool 2 does not have constructed pegs, both pools provide a natural and serene fishing environment. There may not be specific facilities available, but anglers can enjoy the peaceful surroundings and focus on their fishing experience.
Is parking available?
Access to the pools does not require a key. Combination lock access is available, ensuring secure entry to the fishery. However, it is important to note that day tickets are not available for these pools, indicating they are exclusive to members or permit holders.
