Fishery Information

Pavyotts Mill is a three-lake fishing complex just outside East Coker, Somerset. Most carp anglers will know about this fishing complex, though, as it has some of the largest carp in the UK at the moment.

The Maze is the newest lake here, and it is quickly becoming infamous thanks to its residents. There are 13 double swims on this 8-acre lake, and it has a clay and silt bottom. The average depth is 10ft, and the stock of carp is out of this world.

Josh’s Lake is two acres in size and has five double swims with huts, beds and mattresses for the anglers. Again, the carp in this lake are massive as well!

Finally, there is Jade’s Lake which is one acre and has two swims with huts. For a one-acre lake, the carp in this lake are, once again, ridiculous!

What size do the fish go to?

The Maze Lake has carp to 50lbs!
Josh’s Lake has common and mirror carp to 30lbs and grass carp to 16lbs.
Jade’s Lake has carp to 38lbs and a very good head of doubles.

What tactics work well?

Island fishing is the best tactic on most lakes here but works very well on Maze lake. Jade’s is nice and small, so you can be amongst the fish almost anywhere. All the carp on the venue were fed with pellets when they were young, so bring some pellets for your spod mix or bags and get ready for some action!

What facilities are on site?

There are huts with beds in all swims. Each hut also has landing nets, carp cradles and a lot of other gear.

Is parking available?

Parking is available next to each hut, so there is no need to bring a barrow.
