Fishery Information
Picks Cottage Fishing Lakes is a five lake complex located close to Chingford, Essex. It is easy to reach from the M25 with excellent directions on the website.
An established fishery, the well-stocked lakes are The Float Pond, Match Lake, Doughnut Lake, S Lake and the Barrow Lake.
The S Lake with 10 Swims and the Barrow Lake with 3 are stocked with fine specimen Carp. Carp and Catfish are found in the Doughnut Lake, with carp, tench and bream in the Match Lake. The Float Pond is stocked with smaller mixed coarse species.
There are plenty swims on the main lakes without overcrowding.
Picks Lane caters for disabled anglers with easy access and specially adapted swims.
This is a member’s only facility, with membership requiring an annual fee.
What size do the fish go to?
In the Float Pond the various species are between 1 to 4lbs. Carp in the Match Lake are between 4lbs and 15lbs, with tench and bream up to 8lbs.
The Doughnut Lake is stocked with carp up to 20lbs and some catfish in excess of 35lbs.
Specimen carp in the S Lake can be more than 35lbs, those in the Barrow Lake 25lbs+.
What facilities are on site?
On site facilities at Picks Lane include a tackle shop selling a wide variety of top brands and an extensive selection of angling gear and products. There is a cafe on the complex as well as toilet facilities. Disabled visitors are well catered-for.
Is parking available?
Parking is available on the complex for members who have purchased day tickets.
