Fishery Information

This fishery is run by Boston & District Angling Association.

Pilgrim Lake is a long-term project of the Association, situated in Wyberton just south of town off the A16. The lake was purchased in 2016, and since then, BDAA (Association) members have been actively working on its development. The goal is to provide an alternative to local drains, rivers, and commercial fisheries, ensuring year-round fishing opportunities for its members.

What size do the fish go to?

The fishery is in the early stages of development, and the first stage of stocking fish into the lake is due to commence very soon. As the fishery grows, it is expected to provide a range of fish species to catch and enjoy.

What tactics work well?

Anglers can use worms for fishing at Pilgrim Lake, but it is essential to adhere to certain restrictions. No boilies, bloodworm, or joker are allowed, but sweetcorn is permitted (not in tin cans). Groundbait is allowed via cups or feeders only, with a maximum of 1kg total of groundbait or pellets per angler per session. Barbless hooks only, with a maximum hook size of 12, are allowed for angling.

What facilities are on site?

The fishery has been the focus of ongoing development efforts, including work parties and various improvements. Five new peg stagings have been constructed, and a footpath is being laid to provide access to these pegs. The car park has been extended and improved for enhanced convenience and access.

Is parking available?

Yes, the fishery provides a car park that has been extended to accommodate anglers’ vehicles and improve accessibility to the lake.
